Mr. Alwee is a veteran public sector leader, community advocate, and halal industry advisor with more than 40 years of experience in environmental health, regulatory enforcement, public engagement, and community development in Singapore.
He began his career with Singapore's Ministry of Environment in 1975, serving in General
Services, Vector Control, Public Health Cleansing, and the Special Operations Unit. Throughout his tenure, he contributed to public health protection, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and community well-being.
Following the restructuring of Singapore's food regulatory framework, he continued his service with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), overseeing food establishment inspections, environmental assessments, sanitation compliance, and enforcement activities that supported Singapore's world-class food safety standards.
